About the Program

The Digital Video & Cinema Production program prepares students for careers in the growing film & video industry.  Graduates from the program go on to have jobs in the video industry such as:  production manager, producer/director, video editor, sound editor, compositor, camera operator, cinematographer, and screenwriter.  Students in the program use the same state-of-the-art equipment and software currently in use in the industry.  The training and class assignments have students shooting, editing, and producing their video and cinema projects within their first semester.

Digital Video & Cinema Production program emphasizes the three major areas of the process: pre-production, production, & post-production. Courses are taught by industry professionals with many years of experience. Some with feature film experience as well as national commercial production.

About the Program Coordinator: Ron Wojnar

 Bio/Teaching Philosophy

I have 20 years of video experience, 15 of which was as a full-time editor. I have cut many videos from local, regional, to national commercials, with over 2000 commercials cut. I have also a number  of music videos and many corporate videos. I am a recording musician (drums) and have recorded & helped mix two albums and have written over 100 musical arrangements.

My teaching philosophy is if you want to learn film/video you have to do it, not just read about it. In the first video class, students are in-the-field the second day of class and editing the second week.  I treat all    students as “beginning video professionals.”

 Education

M.A. with Distinction in Education with a concentration in Instructional Technology & Design, University of the Incarnate Word.
