Why do I need to include a college school code on my FAFSA?
The college school code is what the Department of Education will use to identify which college(s) to forward your FAFSA information to.
If I'm not sure which of the Alamo Colleges I would like to attend, can I list more than one?
Because financial aid applicants may not have decided which college will be their primary institution, we recommend listing all four school codes. This will allow all four colleges to receive your FAFSA information.
If I list all four school codes, how will my primary institution be determined?
The college where you apply for admission, enroll and receive financial aid from will be considered your primary institution.
What if I'm considering enrolling at Northeast Lakeview?
During Northeast Lakeview's accreditation period, financial aid applicants who intend to enroll an Northeast Lakeview must use San Antonio College's school code and enroll for San Antonio College courses taught at Northeast Lakeview.
What if I decide not to attend the Alamo Colleges or am transferring to another institution, do I need to remove the school codes from my FAFSA?
No, but you will need to add the other institutions school code in order for your FAFSA information to be forwarded. Once the institution receives your FAFSA information, eligibility will be determined. Your financial aid at the Alamo Colleges including Federal Pell Grant and Direct Loans will not transfer.
