Welcome to the Governmental Relations Website
The Governmental Relations Office is responsible for working with the chancellor, administrators and the Board of Trustees in developing state and federal legislative agendas. To stay informed on education related legislative issues, we monitor pertinent legislative committee meetings and coordinate meetings between our leadership and state and federal officials to apprise them of our legislative priorities and concerns.
During the state legislative session, legislative bills affecting community colleges are tracked throughout the legislative process. Weekly reports are prepared regarding actions on legislative bills relevant to community colleges. Monthly reports regarding legislative updates are presented to the Board of Trustees at their regular monthly meetings. A final state legislative summary is produced at the end of the legislative session.
