Network Services
The Alamo Colleges network infrastructure consists of a vast array of equipment including enterprise servers, storage area networks, cabling systems, network switches, and routers.
The Networking Services Team is responsible for the following functions
- Alamo Colleges Wide Area Network
- Fiber Infrastructure between building and campus
- District DNS
- District DHCP
- District Enterprise Firewalls
- Enterprise Servers
Getting Connected
Network Access Account (Active Directory)
The Alamo Colleges Computer Network is a critical ITS resource. The network provides you access to email, Internet and other key server based resources. When hired, employees are eligible to receive network Alamo Access. An Active Directory Alamo Colleges account is created for you at the time of computer installation.
Telecommunications
Alamo Colleges Information Technology Services department is responsible for providing all telecommunication support services including installation of telephone lines, devices, voicemail, long distance and PBX switchboards.
The Telecommunications Team service and support the Alamo Colleges telephone system, with approximately 4,500 telephone extensions district-wide. Under the CIP Bond Initiative, our telephones will be upgraded to a Voice-Over IP enabled system.
