Social activism in our community - A look at two remarkable women in San Antonio during the Depression

Social Activism in our Community

Add to Calendar Mexican American Studies is sponsoring a Women's History Month event.  Dr. Gabriela González from UTSA will be on campus Wednesday, March 27th at 11:00 in HH banquet hall. Her research centers on transborder community activists in South Texas from 1900 to 1960. Her presentation involves the role of social activism in our community by comparing two remarkable women in San Antonio during the Depression---- Emma Tenayuca (20-year old labor leader) and Carolina Munguia (Henry Cisneros' mother).
