Alamo Colleges, TWC Host Industry Day

Add to Calendar The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), represented by Commissioner Hope Andrade, is partnering with the Alamo Colleges and Workforce Solutions Alamo for Industry Day on Wednesday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Performing Arts Center at Palo Alto College, 1400 W. Villaret Blvd. This half-day event will provide faculty and advisors from local public schools and the Alamo Colleges with current labor market information to help them advise students on making career choices.

"A skilled workforce is critical for Texas to compete in a global economy," said Zaragoza. "To meet employer demand for skilled workers in the next decade, Texas must provide key labor market information to educators to help students choose their career paths wisely," he added.

On hand for the event will be: Andrade; Rich Froeschle, TWC chief economist; Dr. Federico Zaragoza, Alamo Colleges' vice chancellor for economic and workforce development; and Eva Esquivel, industry liaison, Workforce Solutions Alamo. They will be joined by representatives from Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc., University Health System, Holt Cat, TASC, the Corner Store, HEB, Rackspace and other leading area employers. Local employers also will provide information on their businesses at booths in the exhibit area.

If you would like to attend Industry Day or need more information, call 210-485-0150.
