Alamo Colleges offer a number of programs designed to help high school students get on the fast track to a college education. Explore these programs to find one that fits your goals and interests.

  • Dual Credit - Qualified high school juniors and seniors can earn college credit while completing high school requirements. Students generally earn up to 27 college level hours. Tuition and fees are waived for up to two courses per semester. The dual credit courses will apply towards an Associates degree at any of the Alamo Colleges and may transfer to other colleges or universities. It is up to the accepting college or university to honor dual credit course work. Contact a Counselor at Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio College, or St. Philip’s College to enroll.

  • Tech Prep – Begin your technical studies as a high school student and continue in a community college. The result is a 2 year Certificate or an Associate in Applied Science degree. The credit you earned in the Tech Prep high school courses will count towards your college coursework as you learn new workforce skills.

  • The Alamo Academies - The Academies provide education, experience and job opportunities for high school students looking to jump-start their future. They are designed to provide two-year training and internship programs that introduce qualified students to career opportunities in key industries while providing a seamless transition from high school to college to the workplace.
