State Appropriations

Formula funding appropriations for the Alamo Colleges for the biennium is $132,030,900, or $66,015,450 a year. Senate recommendation had been $66.8 million a year and House recommendation had been $60.1 million a year. Statewide community college biennium employee group insurance state funding is $198,398,280, a reduction of $124,810,775, or 38.6  percent, from the previous biennium. The vote on the state budget is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday May 28.

System Administration for Community Colleges

The Coordinating Board will hire a consultant to provide the Legislative Budget Board and the Governor with a blueprint to establish a state system administration for public community colleges by no later than June 1, 2012. The specific criteria for the consultant’s final product shall be determined collaboratively by the Legislative Budget Board. Governor and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
