 Students wishing to participate in the study abroad program must first complete an application and submit the $200 application fee. All study abroad applications are processed by the study abroad coordinator regardless of the program. Students are notified by email of their acceptance to the program after the deadline dates below. Participants who are suspended or on academic or disciplinary probation are not eligible to apply for the study abroad program. The department of academic affairs at each college reviews all study abroad applications for compliance with the disciplinary policies of the Alamo Colleges. The Alamo Colleges reserves the right to interview all study abroad candidates and to deny any candidate acceptance to the program for any reason deemed relevant to the eligibility requirements of the college. 

 Application deadline dates:

Fall study abroad programs: March 14, 2014 

Spring study abroad programs: October 3, 2013 

Winter study abroad programs: November 21, 2013  

Summer study abroad programs: December 6, 2013   

Eligibility Requirements

Students interested in participating in a study abroad program must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Be a degree-seeking student at one the Alamo Colleges
• Have completed at least 12 college credit hours of course work by the intended departure date
• Have a minimum GPA of 2.0
• Meet academic requirements and prerequisites for the specific course(s) you will take 

Application Process

  1. Decide on a program
  2. Print out an application:
    1. Faculty-led program application 
    2. Exchange program application 
    3. Thrid party provider application 
     
  3. Complete the application by the deadline and submit it in-person to the international programs office: 201 W. Sheridan, Bldg. C, Room 7, San Antonio, TX 78204
  4. Once you’re application has been accepted for the program you select, you will receive an acceptance letter and a packet with additional forms which must be submitted by the deadline provided in your acceptance letter
