The AAS degree in Health Information Technology with three tracks: Health Management Medical Laboratory Technician Specialty, Health Management Occupational Therapy Assistant Specialty, and Health Management Radiography Technologist Specialty is a flexible educational approach to preparing military service members and veterans who have training and experience as medical laboratory technicians, occupational therapy assistants, and radiography technologists to meet the evolving challenges of administering healthcare operations in the modern civilian healthcare system. The degree is designed to enable students who have training in and/or who hold a valid national certification in their healthcare occupation, but lack an academic degree, the opportunity to complete an AAS degree while obtaining administrative and managerial knowledge to broaden their capabilities and enhance their value to healthcare employers. Earning the AAS degree in Health Information Technology with three tracks can help graduates advance within a medical organization, expand their job/promotion opportunities/options, and allow them to articulate to baccalaureate degree programs (e.g., Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences).
