Procedure:
To place an item on reserve, please fill out a Reserve Request Form, available at the Circulation Desk in the Library. You will need to provide contact information (phone number or email address), the name and number of the course for which the material is to be placed on reserve, and the date when the item is to be taken off reserve.
Reserve Articles/Books:
The objective of the Northwest Vista College library reserve collection is to make limited copies of required materials available to students.
Books from the Northwest Vista College library circulating collection may be placed on reserve.
Faculty can place articles/books from their personal collection on reserve.
Faculty can place up to five books on reserve for each semester.
Items may be placed on reserve by filling out the Articles/Books Reserve Form.
Allow three days to process reserve items.
Reserve items may be checked out for two-hour library use only.
No reserve items may leave the circulation desk without being checked out for two-hour library use.
Articles that can be obtained from the library's online databases should not be put on reserve.
All reprinted articles and book chapters must comply with current copyright laws.
Reserve Videos/DVD's:
Videos/DVDs from the Northwest Vista College library may be placed on reserve.
Videos/DVDs from the personal collections of faculty members may be placed on reserve.
There is a five video/DVD limit.
To ensure that an NVC library video/DVD is available to show in class, please place your requests a minimum of one week in advance by filling out the Video/DVD Reserve Form.
Please consider making your requests at the beginning of the semester.
After a reserve video/DVD is shown in class, it will be placed on reserve for in-library use for a period of two weeks.
Reserve videos/DVDs may be requested at the circulation desk by title of by name of professor.
Videos/DVDs from other libraries may be put on reserve for their loan period.
