I can't log in to ACES.

You might need to verify your ACES ID.
Go to the ACES login page and select “How do I get a user name and password?” link on the left under the login box.

- OR -

Your password needs to be reset.
Go to the ACES login page and select the “Forgot Password?” link to reset your password. If the problem persists, contact the District IT Helpdesk at (210) 485-5555, Option 4.

I can log in to ACES, but the course does not appear under the "My Courses" tab.

The wrong semester or term may be selected.
Be sure you have selected the current term.

- OR -

If you just registered, the course may not be appearing in ACES yet.
Contact NLC’s IT Helpdesk at (210) 486-5777, or after 5 p.m., District IT Helpdesk at (210) 485-0555, Option 4.

- OR -

You are either not registered for the class or may have been dropped.
Contact Student Services, located on the NLC campus in the Student Commons (STCM-101). They can also be reached at (210) 486-5401, Option 4, or e-mailed at nlc-nlcadmin@alamo.edu.

I can log in to ACES, but when I click the course, I get “Unauthorized” or other error message.

Your online course needs to be synced.
Contact NLC’s IT Helpdesk at (210) 486-5777, or after 5 p.m., District IT Helpdesk at (210) 485-0555, Option 4.

I can log into ACES, but when I click the course, nothing happens/I get a white screen/I get a little yellow bar telling me the content has been blocked.

You’ll need to disable your Internet browser’s pop-up blocker.
The preferred Internet browser to access your online courses is Mozilla Firefox which you can download for free by clicking here. Then, you'll need to adjust your Internet browser’s pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from aces.alamo.edu. To learn how, consult the Technical Information page in the Canvas Quick Guide. 

I need help navigating my course or understanding where to start.

If you are new to online learning and/or have not taken the Orientation to Online Learning mini-course …
Contact NLC’s Distance Learning Center at (210) 486-5372 or nlc-dlc@alamo.edu to register for the Orientation to Online Learning mini-course: OLRN-0001-003, CRN #18931 for Spring 2015. You can either complete this mini-course online or sign up for a “Face- to- Face” orientation by completing this online registration form. You’ll need to provide your Banner ID # and @student.alamo.edu e-mail address, so have it ready!

If you’ve taken online courses before, but this is your first time using Canvas, Alamo Colleges’ Learning Management System (LMS) …

Contact your instructor and let him or her know you need clarification on how to proceed. 

I am in a Math, Reading or English Developmental Education course (starts with a 0 like Math 0301) at the NLC campus and do not know how to use Canvas and MyLab.

The instructor has not provided access instructions.
Ask your instructor at the following class meeting for instructions, or contact him or her ahead of time and let them know.

I am in an online course that also uses a publisher's website. I need help with that site.

If you can log in to Canvas, but not the publisher's site, first make sure you have  the access code that is typically bundled with the publisher's textbook.
If you need assistance with the code, send the instructor an email or call and let him or her know you need assistance.

For technical support or help with Pearson's MyLabs, contact the publisher:

I can’t access BioSig-ID or have forgotten my BioSig-ID Password.

 If you are experiencing a technical issue related to BioSig-ID or have forgotten your password, please call the District IT Helpdesk at (210) 485-0555 [Option 4]. 

 Do NOT contact Canvas Support as they cannot resolve BioSig-ID problems.
