International Students

ESLA/ENGA Students (credit students)

HOW DO I APPLY?

  1. APPLY TEXAS: Complete WEB Admission Form online: www.applytexas.org (Web Admission process takes 4 business days.)  
  2. BANNER ID: Receive Banner ID in email from College.
  3.   TRANSCRIPTS: EVALUATE YOUR Transcripts  www.naces.org.   Submit Official Transcripts & Evaluation OR GED scores to Admission and Records (FAC #216). 
    • High school diploma – Basic / General Evaluation.
    • University transcripts – Course by Course Evaluation.
    • GED in Spanish or English 
     
  4. MENINGITIS VACCINATION:  If you are UNDER 22 years old, you must get the Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination and wait 10 days before registering ONLINE.
  5. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY PLACEMENT TEST: Go  to OC119 (M/T/W—days may change; call 486-0965)   Bring (1) Any Picture ID Bring and (2) a #2 pencil; Plan for PARKING--Test begins promptly at 10:00.– ARRIVE 15 MINUTES  EARLY!  
  6.   REGISTRATION: Log on to your ACES account to register for classes ONLINE.
     


 HOW MUCH DO I PAY?

Financial aid (available for citizens and permanent residents ONLY).    

Tuition & Fees and Tuition for additional information on fees for credit and noncredit education.

  IMPORTANT NOTE: 27 HOUR Rule for Tuition Costs (for citizens and permanent residents only).  

 

Students taking more  than 27 hours of Developmental Education courses (including ESLA or ENGA courses) will have to pay an additional charge of $112.00 PER HOUR for In-District tuition and $168.00PER HOUR  for Out-of-District tuition.  

 Non-Texas residents or international students do not have to pay the additional charge.

 

 

CE-ESL Students (noncredit students) 

HOW DO I APPLY?

  1. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY PLACEMENT TEST:  Make an appointment in OC119.  Bring a #2 pencil –Plan for PARKING ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE TEST Bring Any Picture ID.
  2. Create Profile Application (OC #119)
  3. Register for Classes (OC #119)

HOW MUCH DO I PAY?
  1. Pay your tuition IN CASH (FAC #201) OR with credit/debit card through ACES
  2. Get a FREE Student ID
  3. Go to FAC #200 with your PAID bill
  4. Get a FREE temporary Parking Permit from OC #119 OR OC #119 to receive VIA student discount card
  5.  Visit the VIA office (across the street) to receive the VIA bus pass 

Still need help? 

  1. Go to Oppenheimer Academic Center #119  (see Map)
  2. An assistant will help you.
  3.  Read all the steps in the Enrollment Guide for ESLA or ENGA OR   
  4. Read all the steps in the Enrollment Guide for ESL
  5.  The assistant will explain everything to you.
  6.  Complete all the steps.
