Although Internet and Hybrid courses provide excellent educational opportunities, they simply aren’t the best choice for everyone. To be successful, students must have a working knowledge of computers (including email, browsing the Internet, using word processing programs and perhaps other software programs), must practice good time management skills, and be self-disciplined.
We want to help you make the right decision before you take an online course. You can always try a hybrid course first or you may decide you'd be a perfect online learner. This way you can start your semester off with confidence and enthusiasm!
Two resources to help you:
- Comments from past online students on what skills did you need to succeed in this Internet class?
- SmarterMeasure is an online assessment to help you determine which learning environment would be best for you. Link, username and password to SmarterMeasure are below.
