 CompTIA Training

For individuals, attaining certifications means increased job security, additional career opportunities and increased credibility in the workplace. For businesses, hiring certified workers means higher customer satisfaction, increased productivity and lower employee turnover. Northeast Lakeview College offers training so you can earn your COMPTIA certifications and become a successful IT professional and partners with businesses for workforce training.

CompTIA A+

This course prepares students to perform computer hardware tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The course also covers domains such as security, safety and environmental issues, communication, and professionalism. CompTIA A+ validates the latest skills needed by today's computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. In addition, CompTIA A+ is the foundation skill set for all aspects of information technology – no matter what you do with information technology, it all comes down to how the 0’s and 1’s hit the hard drive. A+ Certification will allow you to understand IT better no matter what field you are in! CompTIA is also the industry standard for entry-level information technology specialists around the world – CompTIA is a worldwide consortium of IT hardware and software manufacturers including Dell, Cisco, HP, Microsoft, IBM and every major IT player in the world.

Nearly every other advanced technology training program from RackspaceU and Northeast Lakeview College coming up in the next three years presumes you have these skills and knowledge – the CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications are part of both Cisco and Microsoft certification tracks. You are sure to enjoy greater success in the advanced programs by having a good grasp of the fundamentals. 5 days, 40 hours.

Participants will learn to describe the features and functions of networking components. Content also includes protocols and services, and students will learn the layers of the OSI model, features and functions of network components and the skills needed to install, configure, and troubleshoot basic networking hardware peripherals and protocols. 5 days, 40 hours.
