Counseling and Advising's hours of operation are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

First Saturday of the month 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Counseling & Advising Services

Our dedicated counselors, academic advisors, and staff play a vital role in the educational endeavors of San Antonio College students by providing counseling, guidance, academic advising, and course placement service year-round.

Online Advising  

Online counseling and academic advisement builds and sustains partnerships with students to support their academic success and academic challenges and makes referrals for other support services. 

Career Services     

Career Services assists students in pursuing life-long career goals by helping to identify a major and career field, developing effective job search skills, and providing access to employment opportunities.  

Graduation Project 

Students are strongly encouraged to begin planning for graduation early by meeting with a faculty advisor or visit with a Counselor or faculty advisor at the department office for your major to receive a preliminary degree evaluation and to discuss degree options and appropriate catalog year.  Students are encouraged to begin planning for graduation early by meeting with a faculty advisor or counselor and selecting a specific degree plan or academic/career goal.

Group Advising 

The Group Orientation Program is dedicated to providing a first point of contact for students who have not earned 15 college credit hours at San Antonio College or any other college or university.  

Personal Counseling  

Counselors are available to also assist you in personal matters.  Consultations are kept confidential.  We are aware that personal matters may affect your educational goals and our counselors are here to offer an outlet to help you. 
 
When necessary, Counselors can help students obtain referrals to community agencies and resources not provided at San Antonio College.

Transfer Center  

The Transfer Center provides different avenues to obtain degree information from other colleges and universities in the state of Texas and throughout the country.

San Antonio Education Partnership (SAEP)

SAEP assists students with the transition from high school to college life; provide students with academic support services; increase student's academic and social awareness; develop student's leadership potential and academic survival skills, and improve retention and success of eligible SAEP students.
