Tim Rockey - Dean of Continuing Education
Biographical Information
"I am very pleased that Tim Rockey has been approved as the new dean of Continuing Education," said Dr. Robert E. Zeigler, President.
He added, "Mr. Rockey has outstanding credentials, having done excellent work in all aspects of continuing education, as an instructor, recruiter, and administrator. We are very fortunate to have such an accomplished person to lead this important division, which is the largest continuing education operation in San Antonio and among the largest in the nation."
"Rockey's work in continuing education is impressive," said Zeigler. This includes establishing systems for retrieval and analysis of registration and revenue data, program development, facilitating state reporting, establishing a direct mail database, web site design and development, design and publication of semester bulletins, and conducting community needs assessments, among other things.
Rockey has also served on college, district, and state committees and professional associations. He is President of the Texas Administrators of Continuing Education for Community and Junior Colleges, serves on the Texas State Leadership Consortium for Curriculum Development, Texas Association of Community Colleges' Distance Learning Advisory Committee and was Vice President of Administration of the San Antonio Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development. He also chaired the Legislative Committee of the Texas Administrators of Continuing Education for Community and Junior Colleges.
He earned his B.A. degree from Coker College in South Carolina and his M.A. in Adult and Community Education from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
