ACES and Blackboard

ACES: ACES stands for Alamo College Educational Services.  ACES is our web-based portal that connects you to many of the academic systems and services.  Through ACES, you can access Email, Blackboard, Online Registration modules, the Virtual Business Office and more.

Blackboard Vista (BBV): Blackboard Vista is the Learning Management System used at Alamo Colleges to deliver online courses and online course components for face-to-face classes.  Blackboard Vista is web based and you will need internet services to access a Blackboard Course.  With Blackboard you can see course content, lecture notes, access assignments and quizzes.  The system also has several communication tools, such as, chat, email, discussion boards, blogs and wikis.  Blackboard is accessible via ACES.

Access eClips, our short video tutorials for instructions on how to use Blackboard Vista and ACES.

Canvas: Canvas is Alamo College's new Learning Management Solution.  Beginning Spring 2013, Canvas will replace our current learning Management Solution, Blackboard Vista.  Canvas is a great new system and has a lot of cool features, such as Social Media integration, e-portfolio options, personalized notifications, audio and video discussion posts, personal file storage, and more.  Once implemented, you will access Canvas the same way you currently access Blackboard Vista, through ACES.  To learn about Canvas, select the Canvas Student Quick Guide.
