Michael Ximenez, coordinator of student services support programs at Northeast Lakeview College, was recognized as the Alamo Colleges Employee of the Month for May 2012 at the Board of Trustees Meeting on May 23. Mr. Ximenez is employed in the Student Services department and coordinates the Early Alert program and works with students to provide information on degree plans and graduation preparation.
Mr. Ximenez was recognized as the Northeast Lakeview College Employee of the Quarter in April 2012. He has been with the Alamo Colleges for seven years and received his associate degree from Palo Alto College, and both his B.A. in Psychology and his M.A. in Education from the University of Northern Iowa. According to his nominator, “Michael is an exceptional employee. He shows extreme dedication to serve NLC students…..Michael has exhibited true leadership by starting the Early Alert Program,” a program designed to initiate early contact with students who are struggling and providing them with resources to overcome barriers that interfere with student success. Additionally, “he is a true asset to Northeast Lakeview College and very well deserving of this award.”
The Alamo Colleges Employee of the Month Award is given each month at the Board of Trustees Meeting. Recipients are selected from their College’s pool of Employee recognitions for the preceding year.
