Chancellor Leslie Hosts Community Breakfasts

During the month of December, Alamo Colleges' Chancellor Dr. Bruce Leslie hosted a series of community partnership breakfasts in each county of the Alamo Colleges' eight-county service area. The breakfasts offered an opportunity to engage community leaders in conversations about educational partnerships. All of the events were well attended and well-received by the cross section of community partners who participated.

"I am very pleased that our trustees, Mr. Marcelo Casillas and Dr. Yvonne Katz, along with the college presidents, were able to  join us for these events," said Leslie. "I would also like to acknowledge Michelle Perales, Director of Community Partnerships for the Alamo Colleges, for her efforts in organizing these meetings," he added.

Feedback from these informative sessions has provided the leadership of the Alamo Colleges a better understanding of educational  interests in our service area.  The sessions proved valuable to the Alamo Colleges as a reaffirmation of current program offerings. They also provided an indication of adjustments that may be needed in the education programs offered by the Alamo Colleges and additional programs needed by the communities. Overall, the meetings served as the starting point for continued communications and interactions between the Alamo Colleges and their community partners.
