Unique Scholarship Funds College for Parent and Child

The Alamo Colleges are now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 Tom Sandoval Rey Feo LULAC Parent/Child Scholarship program. This unique program offers a $1,000 scholarship for a student, who has at least one child aged six years or younger, to attend one of the Alamo Colleges and a two-year scholarship for their child to attend one of the Alamo Colleges upon graduation from high school.
 
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
• Be enrolled for Fall 2013 at one of the Alamo Colleges
• Be the parent of a child, aged six years or younger (only one child eligible per family)
• Commit to completing an educational goal at one of the Alamo Colleges (certificate, associate degree or transfer program within four years of selection for the scholarship)
• Have no more than 30 college level earned hours (not counting remedial courses)
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at the time of application and meet the Alamo Colleges Satisfactory Academic Progress requirement
• Have submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to one of the Alamo Colleges
• Interview with the scholarship committee

    The staff of The Ranger/The Ranger Online, student newspaper at San Antonio College, has produced a special edition with information on the Alamo Colleges trustee election. The edition, which hit stands April 25, also pays tribute to The Ranger's 90th anniversary. The election section includes photos and interviews with the 11 candidates for the four open trustee positions, an editorial encouraging voting, and a map showing the four districts up for election. The editorial stresses the importance of voters in shaping the direction of the Alamo Colleges. Early voting starts April 25, and the election is May 7. Read More >

    Alamo Community College District (“Alamo Colleges”, “the District”) is currently planning to access the capital markets the week of May 23rd, 2016. The District anticipates selling approximately $70 million Limited Tax Refunding Bonds Series 2016 via negotiated sale. The final size and structure of the transaction has not yet been determined and is subject to change.
