DAV Mobile Services Helps SAC Veterans

San Antonio College’s Vet Success on Campus (VSOC) hosted their first DAV Mobile Services event on February 18. The purpose of the event was to provide SAC students who are identified as Servicemembers or Veterans, including their spouse and dependents, the opportunity to see the services available to them. The SAC VA Office cohosted the event.

Information was provided on various topics including education, the differences between various education chapters, Ebenefits, home loans, compensation and pension and resources were provided to Veterans who were in need of immediate services.

VSOC, and DAV Mobile Services, met with over 150 Veterans, their spouses and/or dependents and service members during the event. Over 50 DAV claims were also processed.

The event showed the need for the services at SAC and to its students. VSOC plans to have another such event in the fall.

Agencies participating in the event were the VA Benefits Office, American GI Forum, STVHCS Suicide Previention Department and VSOC from UTSA.
