Alamo Colleges' Foundation Joins "The Big Give S.A."

On May 6, San Antonio will come together for 24 hours of nonprofit giving during "The Big Give S.A." It's our city's first-ever online giving day, and it's your chance to make a real impact in your community.

To participate, just commit to donating online to Alamo Colleges Foundation on May 6 at www.thebiggivesa.org - your will support will help us progress toward our goal of awarding a scholarship to every Alamo Colleges' student who applies and is eligible. Your participation also helps us become eligible for prize money and matching dollar opportunities.

The purpose of this community-wide giving challenge it to increase public awareness of the impact local nonprofits make in addressing our community's social challenges, to bring nonprofits and donors together, to expand the idea of online giving, to connect people to the causes that move them most, and, to make giving fun. By turning giving into a shared, city-wide experience, we can significantly impact the future of San Antonio and collectively move our city forward.

Gifts can start at $10. This is a great way to become a donor.

By taking this opportunity to give to Alamo Colleges Foundation, you will help build capacity so students can receive funds to meet educational expenses, which can be the difference between dropping out and completing a degree, or never attending college at all.

  • Alamo Colleges Awarded Recycling Bins by Coca-Cola/Keep America Beautiful

    Keep America Beautiful and The Coca-Cola Company have awarded 90 recycling bins to Alamo Colleges through the 2016 Coca-Cola/Keep America Beautiful Public Space Recycling Bin Grant program. As part of the grant, Alamo Colleges will order an additional 30 bins, providing a total of 120 23-gallon recycling bins. These will be placed next to trash cans and waste baskets in hallways, commons areas, workrooms and/or large classrooms at Alamo Colleges - Northwest Vista College. The goal of the program is to address one of the main barriers to recycling in public spaces by making access to recycling bins more available and convenient. Read More >

    The Alamo Colleges - San Antonio College (SAC) Public Relations Team (SAC-PR) and the Alamo Colleges Communications Department both took home honors at the 2016 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 4 Medallion Awards October 28.     Alamo Colleges Board Chair Dr. Yvonne Katz, Trustee Denver McClendon and Chancellor Dr. Bruce Leslie joined community leaders and the City of San Antonio recently to celebrate the grand opening of the 56,000-square-foot Eastside Education & Training Center (EETC) located at 4551 Dietrich Road. The facility, which occupies the former Pfeiffer Elementary School, is a one-stop education and workforce development center designed for the Eastside community in partnership with Alamo Colleges and the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD).
