 Thank you for choosing Northwest Vista College.  Before you apply, you are encouraged to complete the Alamo Colleges Introduction to College & Pathways and Admissions Process Modules available at alamo.edu/district/MyMAP  

APPLY
Complete and submit your admission application for the term you plan to attend (i.e. Summer 2013): www.applytexas.org 
In four business days, log-in to your Alamo Colleges Education Services (ACES) account to view the “Start Here” Tab for next steps and your required modules.  

SUBMIT TRANSCRIPT(S)
First time in college students (FTIC) must submit an official high school transcript or official GED test scores to Admissions & Records. Official high school transcript must include at least six complete semesters and must be sealed or sent electronically by the school.  Upon graduation, you must submit a final high school transcript which reflects a graduation date.

COMPLETE "MyMAP My Checklist" MODULES found in your ACES "START HERE" TAB :  Paying for College, I-Care, Assessment Information, Test Preparation (If applicable)

PAYING FOR COLLEGE
You are strongly encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at  http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/  
Please allow a minimum of 3 to 4 months to complete the financial aid process and consult alamo.edu/district/financial-aid for Priority and Processing Guarantee Dates. 

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION
Reminder: Be sure to submit your official transcript, SAT, ACT or TAKS scores for evaluation. If you are exempt from testing based on submitted scores, you will not have to take an assessment test. 

TAKE THE ASSESSMENT TEST (If applicable)   Information on the placement exam is available at http://alamo.edu/nvc/testing/.  

SUBMIT BACTERIAL MENINGITIS VACCINATION VERIFICATION FORM
Texas state law requires that entering students show evidence of receiving a bacterial meningitis vaccination or booster dose during the five year period prior to enrollment.  The law allows a few/some exceptions. You may obtain additional information at  alamo.edu/meningitis
.  Submit form with valid ID to Admissions and Records.  Required for registration. 

ACADEMIC ADVISING
Once you have completed your MyMAP MyChecklist Modules, please sign up for your Degree Planning & Registration Session.  This group advising session is mandatory for all First-Time-in-College students and must be completed prior to course registration. You may only sign-up for a session for the term you have applied to and plan to attend (e.g.  Summer 2013 or Fall 2013).  Bacterial Meningitis Documentation must be submitted at least one hour prior to attending the session.

REGISTER FOR CLASSES
Once an advising session has been completed and you have provided the required documentation for the bacterial meningitis vaccination, please register online. Remember to utilize the Individual Success Plan when planning out your semesters.  SDEV 0170 registration is required.

PAY TUITION & FEES
Tuition payment must be made via credit card or check online via your ACES  account.  Payment in full or by installments must be made by the payment deadlines or you will be dropped from your classes.
Tuition bills will not be mailed out. 

SMART START: FIRST DAY COUNTS
 Attendance has a significant impact on performance, and attendance during the first week is integral to your success. Regular and punctual attendance in all classes is required. Your absences are recorded from the first day, and if you do not attend class at least once during the first week of class, you will be dropped from the class.
