KIDS Jam Summer Camps 2013 

Price $150 (per week)

Grades 1st - 5th

Weekly thematic camps are held Monday - Friday.  Campers may be dropped off as early as 7:30am and picked up no later than 5:30pm.  Core camp classes are from 8:30am - 4:30pm.

FIRST SESSION 

Beginner ESL for Teens CRN: 40772
Date:   July 8th – July 25th
Days:  M/T/TH     
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Building: Mountain Laurel Hall RM TBD
Class Description:
This course is for students who speak a little or no English and are familiar with the Western alphabet. Students will practice greetings and simple concepts related to the words “be” and “do.” It will also reinforce students’ understanding of verb tenses and sentence structure. It also includes simple and continuous verb tenses. Irregular verbs will also be introduced.

Intermediate ESL for Teens CRN: 40775
Date:   July 8th – July 25th
Days:  M/T/TH     
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm

Class Description:
This course is for students who feel comfortable with simple and continuous verb tenses and can participate in more fluent conversations. This course will introduce some higher-level grammar concepts, including perfect tenses, modals and passive voice. Students will also begin to master irregular verbs and will become more comfortable with “story telling” (correctly using various tenses that express past events and processes in their conversations). It also covers clauses and phrases.

Citizenship Prep Class CRN: 40777
Date:   July 8th – July 25th
Days:  M/T/TH     
Time: 12:30pm – 3:30pm

Class Description:
In the citizenship class, the student will learn how to fill out the citizenship application and become familiar with the information entered in it since most of the conversation during the interview will be based on the information from the application itself. Important facts form the US History and Social Studies make up the main component of the course.
