Student Story: Bonita
The fall of 2009 is Bonita Hall’s first semester at Northwest Vista College despite first attending a smaller private university. While NVC is her second college, Bonita, 20, is glad she made the transition even though she has to drive a bit further since she lives in Devine.
“The people are more open minded here, the campus is very nice and I like how many people here care about the environment.”
Bonita is currently an art major at NVC and hopes to pursue a career in fashion possibly in New York City. After NVC, she plans to attend Texas State University. Her goal is to get her associate degree while at NVC. Bonita added in case she doesn’t get a bachelor’s degree, at least she will have an associate degree under her belt.
When Bonita is not in class or hanging out with NVC’s Gamers Anonymous Club, she plays an active role in recycling. She said where she lives the city doesn’t have a recycling program so she often totes her family’s plastics and paper to her boyfriend’s college, Texas Lutheran University, where it has recycling containers.
