Student Stories 2013 > Tiffany Rico

Student Story: Tiffany

Photo of Tiffany As a first-time college student, Tiffany Rico, 18, already has a goal to get her associate degree.

“This would be a milestone for me and it would make me feel like I’m actually doing something for my life. I want to make my mom and family proud of me.”

The former O’Connor High School student got her start at Northwest Vista College in the summer of 2012. Tiffany said the summer classes helped transition her into being a student for a whole semester.

Tiffany said she’s inspired by her new-found freedom in college, but yet she realizes the focus is now on her.

“How much effort you put into college is up to you. I feel like going to college is for me and my future.”

As the first person in her family to attend college, Tiffany’s goal after she completes her associate degree is to transfer to a four-year university and get into computer forensics for the FBI.
