Student Story: Wendell

At age 24, Northwest Vista College student Wendell Bierbaum already knows why it's important for him to get an associate degree.

Getting an associate degree will help him on his path to becoming a civil engineer with local retailer H-E-B.

“It has been a goal of mine for a long time; and to accomplish getting an associate degree means a lot to me.”

Wendell plans to transfer to the University of Texas at San Antonio after getting his degree from NVC in 2015.

He said going to a two-year college allows him to stay close to home, get an affordable education at a college campus where “most professors are excellent at what they do.”
