Wildcat Mentors - Who

We are looking for students with these requirements:

  • 15-17 hours
  • 2.75 GPA
  • Taken SDEV 0170/EDUC 1300 successfully or equivalent
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong software skills
  • Awareness of campus resources

 

Wildcat Mentors - What

Wildcat mentors, with the help of staff and faculty, support students in first-year courses (SDEV 0170 or EDUC 1300) to facilitate a successful transition to Northwest Vista College. As leaders, both in and out of the classroom, mentors:

  • Lead in-class discussions and presentations
  • Guide students with academic success strategies
  • Inform students about on-campus resources
  • Involve students with campus activities
  • Support overall adjustment to college life

 

Wildcat Mentors - Where

All activities take place on campus. You can always find us in MLH 101B or CCC 16.

 

Wildcat Mentors - When

We accept applications on a rolling basis and all mentoring activities take place during Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

There are great benefits to being a Wildcat Peer Mentor:

Download and fill out the Peer Mentoring Application. Then, submit the application to: rbledsoe6@alamo.edu or CCC 126. Interviews are conducted once per semester.
