We Do Simple Machines (2nd – 3rd grades)

 Cost: $250 per week

July 14‐18, 2014

Students in 2nd ‐3rd grades will explore the topics of simple machines using computer based activities for the motorized Lego kits.


 

NXT Robotics (4th – 6th grades)

Cost: $250 per week

Students in 4th‐6th grades will learn about Space and Robotic exploration using Lego Kits. They will construct robots and learn to program them using computers


 

 

Come Explore with us using Whyville!

Cost: $250

July 21-25, 2014

(6th – 8th grades)

Renewable Energy‐Students will use Whyville, the learning based virtual world for teens, to run virtual power lines, manage a power plant, build green virtual homes, and collect virtual renewable and traditional energy to feed the energy needs of Whyville. Healthcare‐ Students will use Whyville, the learning based virtual world for teens, to establish healthy behaviors, manage the in‐world pharmacy, advise others on nutrition, and prevent the spread of viruses at the virtual biotechnology facility and virtual “center for disease control.” Cyber Star is a competition that tests the ability of the students to defend a simulated corporation network from external hostile attacks. It is designed to educate and motivate cadets to become the cyber defenders the nation needs, while promoting STEM skills. 


 

 

Bridge & Structural Engineering (7th – 8th grades)

Cost: $250 per week

July 21‐25, 2014

Students will learn basic engineering principles related to designing and building truss type bridges and structures.
