This Web site is to assist all qualifying students attending Northwest Vista College in using their educational benefits under Department of Veterans Affairs Educational Assistance Program.
Checklist for admission for VA benefits:
- Complete online application with VA at www.gibill.va.gov
- Complete admission process for Northwest Vista College
- Register for classes at Northwest Vista College
- Complete & submit “Request for Certification” form to NVC Veteran Center
- Submit copy of DD 214, military transcript, & transcripts from all colleges previously attended if applicable to NVC Veteran Center
- Students will meet with a VA advisor to insure that their classes fit into their degree plans and can be certified
- Students certifying under Chapters 30, 35, 1606, & 1607 may first register for courses and will make payment arrangements with Business Services prior to requesting certification
- If certifying under Chapter 33, a student must meet with a VA advisor, complete and submit the VA Enrollment Certification Request Form and be given a contract to satisfy payment requirements
- Chapter 31 students must have a current VA Form 28-1905 on file with NVC Veteran Center each semester
- If certifying under Chapter 31, a student must meet with a VA advisor to receive payment voucher to be taken to Business Service
- Chapter 31 students can pick up their books & supplies vouchers 1 week prior to the start of classes in the Veteran Center
