Industrial Safety and Quality

Industrial Troubleshooting Certification (240 hours)

The skills required in this certificate prepare the student for an entry-level career in Industrial Troubleshooting Technician Certification. This certificate program consists of 240 total contact hours of instruction.

INTC 1057 Sequence Circuitry - AC/DC Motor Control (80 Hrs)

The fundamental study of electric motors, characteristics with emphasis on starting, speed control, and braking systems. Studies the various concepts of motor controls, the circuits and the components that are needed to accomplish different controls. Introduces motor control devices common to a modern industrial environment Included, but not limited to, jogging (inching) circuits, braking circuits, electronic control circuits, reduced voltage starting systems and proximity switches.

CETT 1015 Electronic Equipment Controls - Digital Applications (80 Hrs)

Course Description: An entry level course in digital electronics covering number systems, binary mathematics, digital codes, logic gates, Boolean algebra, Karnaugh maps, and combinational logic. Emphasis is placed on circuit logic analysis, circuit reductions, holding circuits, timing charts, sequential ladder logic, anti-repeat circuits, and discrete sensors and troubleshooting digital circuits. Prerequisites: INTC 1057 Sequence Circuitry - AC/DC Motor Control.

ELMT 2037 Electronic Troubleshooting, Service, and Repair (80 Hrs)

A study of the fundamentals of direct current including Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws and circuit analysis techniques. Emphasis is on circuit analysis of resistive networks and DC voltage measurements. Gives a foundation in Direct Current (DC) Circuits and how voltage, current, resistance, and power all relate in circuits. DC motors are also introduced in this course.
