Introduction to 3D Modeling

3D Modeling and Rendering I - 48 Hours

This class introduces students to various aspects of 3D graphics technology including modeling & sculpting (polygonal, subdivision and voxel), UV-mapping, texturing & rendering. Students will be introduced to basic graphics terminology as well as industry-standard tools and techniques for creating virtual worlds. During this course, students will construct 3D computer models of real-world objects and imaginary creations. Students will also skin and texture their 3D models using a variety of tools (both commercial and open source). Students will learn to render their objects into 2D images and animations and will be introduced to inexpensive fabrication services that can turn their virtual creations into physical objects.
