Correspondence/External Examination Proctoring Services
Palo Alto College provides correspondence and external examination proctoring services for students living in south San Antonio and the surrounding area that need exams administered in a secure, proctored environment. There is a $20.00 fee required on top of normal testing fees (i.e. $29.00 for ACCUPLACER, $80.00 for CLEP). Maximum time allowed for correspondence tests is two hours or close of business (whichever comes first).
Students needing proctoring services should first contact the Testing Center at (210) 486-3444 for information and directions prior to making an appointment. The student should bring a Proctor Agreement Form from the school that will be mailing/transmitting the exam. The student is responsible for the delivery of the agreement form to the appropriate office at the home college/university.
The home college/university is to notify the Testing Center via email regarding the particulars of the proctored exam. Information required includes: name of student, course name/number, preferred test date, and whether the test is to be mailed or emailed to the Test Center. The student may make an appointment and pay for the exam once this information is received.
The home college/university will ensure the Palo Alto Testing Center receives test materials/passwords at least three business days prior to the scheduled exam. Test packets should include instructions for the proctor and the student as well as return postage if applicable. Hard copies of exams can be mailed to:
Palo Alto College
1400 W. Villaret Blvd
San Antonio, TX 78224
Electronically delivered exams should be emailed to:
Attn: Gilbert Polanco
What to bring on your test date
Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before start time to check in and pay the proctoring fee (if not done already). The student is required to present a valid picture ID and proof of payment for proctoring services prior to taking the test.
Students must be aware that all testing is stopped five minutes before closing time and therefore should arrive at the Testing Center with sufficient time to complete the exam.
All completed tests will be forwarded or emailed that same day except for tests completed at the end of the day in which case will be sent out the following business day.
NOTE: The above process and fee applies to all students not currently enrolled in any of the Alamo Colleges who are taking CLEP or ACCUPLACER tests for another institution.
