Art

Degree Programs

All students should seek advisement from the department before enrolling in the program.

Associate of Art in Art

The Associate of Art in Art focuses on the creation of studio-based art such as painting, drawing, film-based photography, sculpture and ceramics. Through this course of study the student will:

  • foster increased design and composition skills;
  • develop the ability draw and paint using materials such as charcoal and oil paint;
  • produce photographic images using dark room processes; and
  • create objects in ceramics and sculpture using techniques related to clay, woodworking and metal.

Associate of Art in Digital Art

The Associate of Art in Digital Art focuses on creation of computer-based art such as graphic design, digital photography, digital illustration and video. Through this course of study the student will:

  • foster increased design and composition skills;
  • develop skills to use the computer as a creative tool;
  • create and edit photographic and drawn digital images;
  • learn to shoot and edit video; and
  • learn industry standard software like Illustrator, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro.
