PAC Health Information Center
The Palo Alto College Health Information Center aims to enhance the success of Palo Alto students by providing education, information and services relating to health awareness. Our office works to improve the health of students as well as promote a healthy campus.
The Health Information Center offers information on topics such as sexual health and the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse. We provide health consulting services, special events and educational materials. We partner with several agencies within San Antonio such as Hope Action Care, the University of Texas Health Science Center and the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
Our team consists of a professionally trained health educator and four peer educators who work together to support the mission and core values of the college.
Peer Health Education
Two female and two male peer educators are available at the Health Information Center. The peer educators are students trained to provide health information to their fellow students. In confidential meetings, a peer educator provides current and accurate information on preventing sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies. All meetings with a peer educator are free.
Health Education Material
The Health Information Center has several educational pamphlets available on various health-related topics. Please stop by the center to pick up any of these free pamphlets.
