External Scholarships -- these are non-Alamo Colleges District scholarships which are available to student attending any college.

Places to check for college scholarships:

Use Google to find scholarships.  Use words from your life story also such as your major, passions, interests, talents, or any descriptor which makes you unique.  Narrow your search by adding words such as foundation and scholarship.  

            • A&M University scholarships (specific school)

           • Criminal Justice scholarships (specific major)

            • Minority male scholarships (descriptor)

            • Single mother scholarships (descriptor)

Once you have compiled the online resource information, make a spreadsheet of the scholarship name & the deadlines for each…and start applying.   Follow their instructions closely.

iefa (International Education Financial Aid) -- premier resource for financial aid, college scholarship, and grant info for US and International students

TheDream.US Scholarship -- We are a national scholarship fund for immigrant youth who've received DACA, who want to obtain a college education and give back to their communities.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship -- The Gilman Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.  Gilman International Scholarship

Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship Program -- Receive up to $2,500 to pursue a career or technical certificate/degree.  Deadlines are: June 1, July 1, & August 1.
