CLEP - CREDIT BY EXAM
ASSESSMENT CENTER
COMPUTERIZED EXAM SCHEDULE
San Antonio College continues to provide individuals with an opportunity to obtain college credit in the subject matter(s) that are listed below, via the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). The CLEP is a computerized exam, which allows you to receive your test scores immediately. The College Board designs it. With the notable exception of CLEP Essay exams, you will receive your CLEP scores upon completion of the exam. An individual who completes the CLEP exam has the option of either submitting, or not submitting their CLEP scores for posting on their college transcript. The individual may then have the option of enrolling in the respective class for credit. Lastly, San Antonio College does not award a letter grade, only course credit is offered for any CLEP exam.
All CLEP credits awarded by San Antonio College are transferable to other institutions, subject to any restrictions as per the individual policies of the receiving institution. It is highly recommended that all individuals who plan to transfer to another institution should consult with the receiving transfer institution regarding its policies and acceptance of CLEP credit. The CLEP testing program is primarily for San Antonio College students. Individuals from other institutions must obtain permission to test at our testing center, subject to seating availability.
CLEP Credit
The Alamo Colleges recognize the credit-granting scores recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE). Students can be granted a maximum of 32 hours of non-course based credit. No credit will be awarded until the student has successfully completed as least six (6) hours of course credit from one of the Alamo Colleges. Specific information is provided in the following tables.
