Be SAC Proud. GRADUATE! is a campaign to aid eligible students through the graduation process. The campaign targets students who are nearing the completion of a degree or certificate, and encourages them to complete all the necessary steps in order to graduate. Starting with… the graduation application. In order to graduate, you MUST apply.
All students must apply for graduation to receive a degree. Students should plan to attend the graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2013. More information about how to apply for graduation and about the graduation ceremony can be found at www.alamo.edu/sac/graduation.
Want to have a shot at winning $2,000, $1,000 or $500? All you have to do is complete the SAC Diploma Pass.
The SAC Diploma Pass is a mini-diploma that serves as a reminder to complete all of the necessary steps in order to graduate. Eligible students are those who have completed (or will complete) the necessary courses to earn a degree from SAC.
Students who complete the checklist on the SAC Diploma Pass will be eligible to win a $2,000, $1,000 or $500 scholarship. The award may be used toward an institution of transfer or for job-related materials, uniforms and/or equipment.
Instructions will be detailed on the back of the mini-diploma. Eligible students must complete all of the tasks and submit the card to the Student Affairs office in Fletcher Administration Center (FAC), Room 309, by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10.
The steps include:
1. Apply online through ACES. Deadline for online applications is March 25, 2013. (Students within 6 credit hours of degree completion are eligible to apply and participate.)
2. Complete your graduation packet with your department advisor. Liberal Arts Majors are advised in Counseling Center (MLC, 1st floor.)
3. Pick up your cap and gown (if attending the May 11th Graduation Ceremony) during week of April 1-5. Available for pick up 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in FAC 208.
4. Submit your completed Diploma Pass to the Student Affairs office, FAC 309, by 5 p.m. April 10, 2013.
All entries will be verified and checked for eligibility. Only SAC students are eligible to participate. Students may only enter once. All winners will be announced at the graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
