Engineering

Program Level: Degrees, Pre-Majors/Transfer
Department: Mathematics, Engineering & CIS
Institute: Science & Technology
College: SAC

What is the Engineering program?

This program prepares you to launch your engineering career, giving you exposure to emerging technologies along with the foundation to transfer to a four-year university for a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

What will I learn?

You’ll learn how to solve complex problems using math and science principles. In addition to a foundation in engineering, you’ll learn to develop programming in emerging and high-demand technologies, such as artificial intelligence, data science and mixed reality design. You’ll also learn computer-aided design and 3D modeling.

What can I do with this course of study?

This program gives you the foundation to transfer to a four-year university with the general education, science and math courses typically required in the first two years of a university engineering program. You’ll be prepared to continue your education and specialize in civil, electrical, mechanical or computer engineering.

What is special about the program?

As a student in SAC’s Engineering program, you’ll experience training opportunities in emerging technologies, including metaverse development and artificial intelligence. SAC Engineering students have earned national recognition in STEM competitions and in published scientific papers. Small class sizes ensure frequent access to your instructor. You’ll also benefit from extensive student support services and extracurricular opportunities, including undergraduate research, internship and entrepreneurship experiences. While transfer requirements vary among universities, the program offers transfer guides to local universities.
