Lecture by Bogdan Perzynski, Artist, Professor of Art and Co-Founder of the Transmedia program at University of Texas at Austin.
After studying law and architecture in his native country of Poland, Bogdan Perzynski earned his graduate degree in fine arts from the University of Fine Arts in Poznań, Poland, before immigrating to the United States in 1983. In 1987 he joined the faculty of the Department of Studio Art and Art History at UT-Austin, co-founding one of the first interdisciplinary arts programs at an American university. From his early work in installation art, Professor Perzyński has expanded his exploration of transmedia to include video, interactive code, computer vision and positioning, and physical interaction with architectural settings, while investigating philosophies of communication, social interaction and individual invention.
Over a nearly 40-year career, his works have been exhibited extensively, most recently in Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, Greece, Israel, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Thailand, as well as throughout the United States.
