Cisco Networking Academy

 Program to increase skilled workforce pipeline, prepare students for IT careers

SAN ANTONIO, TX, (August 3, 2012)— The Computer Information Systems Department of San Antonio College has announced a new local Cisco Networking Academy. This Cisco Networking Academy will prepare students for networking and IT-related careers in local and international business as well as for higher education in computer science and related fields.
Cisco Systems, a major international leader in computer networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate; specializes in routing, switching, wireless, and security networking systems and devices.
 

These classes will prepare students to take the much sought after Cisco industry certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) and,
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

These industry certifications are much coveted IT certifications and several major businesses in the immediate San Antonio and surrounding areas consider them requirements.

Both academic and continuing education students are eligible for these classes. For more information on the SAC CIS curriculums refer to the SAC 2012-2013 e-catalog (http://mysaccatalog.alamo.edu/) and search for courses prefixed with ITCC.
