WE Conference draws 543…

The 12th annual Women Empowered (WE) Conference was held May 22 & 23 with approximately 543 attendees at the McAllister Auditorium.

WE Conference draws 543 participants


   

The 12th annual Women Empowered (WE) Conference was held May 22 & 23 with approximately 543 attendees at the McAllister Auditorium. Hosted by the SAC Services for Women and Non-traditional Students, this year’s event featured keynote speaker Dr. Laura Reñdon. It was co-sponsored by HEB and Network Power Texas.
 

The WE Conference is a free outreach and recruitment symposium for women who   want to get ahead in life through employment or education.  The event features enhancement and leadership workshops, as well as answers to questions about college and career goals. 
 

This was the first year that the WE conference has spanned two days. Twenty-one scholarships totaling $17,000 were awarded on the first day and a job fair was held on day two.
