The Welding Technology program at St. Philip’s College prepares students for a rewarding occupation in the Welding field. Training programs are available for both incumbent employees who are seeking to sharpen existing skills or for individuals entering the field in search of a rewarding and long lasting occupation. The instructional programs can be customized to meet industry demands in specific areas such as GMAW, GTAW and others. The program worked with the American Welding Society (AWS) and became an Accredited Testing Facility (ATF) on November 30, 2010 in response to critical labor shortages and an aging workforce.
The Welding Technology Program at St. Philip’s College offers program instruction in English only.
Welding Technology Program Physical/Health Requirements:
- Finger and Manual dexterity
- Ability to climb a step ladder or use a step stool, balance, stoop, kneel, and lift heavy loads (20 lbs.), reach over objects.
- Near visual acuity and depth perception
- Visual Color Discrimination-- The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
Note: Students with special needs must register with the Disability Resource Center prior to the beginning of classes.
