Councilman Medina Donates $5,000 for Scholarships

On Wednesday, June 27 at St. Philip's College Southwest Campus, District 5 City Councilman David Medina presented a $5,000 gift to fund a vocational scholarship partnership with the Alamo Colleges, Toyota Motor Manufacturing and St. Philips College. Representing Alamo Colleges at the ceremony were Trustee Roberto Zárate and Chancellor Bruce Leslie. They were joined by Mario Lozoya, Toyota manager of external affairs, and Dr. Adena Williams Loston, president of St. Philip’s College.

Medina's donation will provide ten $500 scholarships to City Council District 5 residents who are first time college students and will be enrolled full time for a two-year vocational program in science, technology, engineering, math or related fields at St. Philip’s College Southwest Campus this fall. Deadline for applications is July 13. Learn More.
