CALLING ALL FIESTA SWAG AND PIN LOVERS: ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN THE ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE CULTUREFEST OPEN HOUSE AND RIB CONTEST TEAM AT FIESTA FIESTA’S PIN PANDEMONIUM APRIL 19 AT HEMISFAIR

All are welcome to join St. Philip's College to learn the latest and greatest about the college's 2018 CultureFest Open House and Rib Competition and (maybe) get one of the promotional swag versions of the official CultureFest pins until they run out (and they run out faster than free ribs or charcoal in a rib-making contest) during the Fiesta Fiesta Pin Pandemonium, a traditional part of the official Fiesta 2018 opening event April 19 at Hemisfair at 434 S. Alamo St.

Take a post-Pandemonium walk a few short blocks and admire your coveted pin swag in one or both of the two Swiss-made gondolas from the signature aerial tramways that once flew the skies around San Antonio, restored by students at the college who gave back in the spirit of Fiesta, and installed in 2017 for use as seating areas in the first of three new parks being developed at Hemisfair Park, just in time for the park's 2018 50th anniversary, and... Fiesta pin and swag selfie-taking moments.

Like the one that happens after Pin Pandemonium. With the college mascot Phil The Tiger. And the college cheer team. And a host of other St. Philip's College folks.

Until they run out, pins are also available for sale with 100 percent of proceeds funding scholarships at St. Philip's College. Traditional sale locations are the student life administrative area of the college’s Turbon Student Center at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive in the city’s Denver Heights neighborhood (Building marked as "13" on the interactive map HTTP://ALAMO.EDU/SPC/IMAP-MLK/) and on the CultureFest grounds on April 26.

For all details on 2018 CultureFest Open House and Rib Competition pin sales and college participation in Pin Pandemonium, contact Dr. Angela McPherson Williams, college director of student success, at (210) 486-2090, awilliams284@alamo.edu.

ABOUT FIESTA AND ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE: At. St. Philip’s College, Fiesta San Antonio is a fusion of arts, heritage and culture and culminates every year in April—from honoring the memory of the Alamo during the Battle of San Jacinto to culture both long before and long after the event---including the amazing 120-year-old legacy of St. Philip’s College. Taking place over 11 days each April, Fiesta literally has something for everyone with more than 110 events ranging in highlights from music, food, sports and pageantry to military and patriotic observances, exhibits, parades, Fiesta® Royalty and more. Fiesta is also the “Party with a Purpose” because more than 100 local nonprofit organizations and military units that include St. Philip’s College create the more than 100 terrific events that take place over 11 days. Those nonprofit organizations spend the rest of the year giving back to the community of San Antonio. An important part of St. Philip’s College’s annual season of service, the college’s signature Fiesta event is its CultureFest Open House and Rib Contest, with details are online at the college web page during Fiesta season.
