SPC's HBCU All Star…

St. Philip’s College student Passion Williams-Toomer was ceremonially introduced as the third White House HBCU All Star Team member during the Alamo Colleges District board of trustees regular meeting of Oct. 24.

SPC's HBCU All Star Team Member Recognized

St. Philip’s College student Passion Williams-Toomer was ceremonially introduced as the third White House HBCU All Star Team member during the Alamo Colleges District board of trustees regular meeting of Oct. 24. Williams-Toomer was recognized for having recently returned from Washington, D.C., as a member of the White House HBCU All Star Team in training. She is one of over 62 out of 600 students chosen for this honor. Her project this year as an All Star is to educate fellow students on the importance and current threat related to the Voting Rights Act. The student holds a 3.7 GPA and is a member of the college volleyball team as a student coach and is a community volunteer. A highlight of the ceremonial introduction was a photo opportunity with (from left) Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Yvonne Katz, Williams-Toomer, St. Philip’s College President Dr. Adena Williams Loston and Alamo Colleges District Chancellor Dr. Bruce Leslie.
