Honors Convocation 2017

St. Philip’s College celebrates student success during its Spring 2017 Honors Convocation April 12 at 5 p.m. in the college's Watson Fine Arts Center at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive, and all are invited to attend. Nearly 200 guests will see about 90 of the 732 students at the college who recently earned honors accolades for performance in the fall 2016 semester actually cross the stage during a ceremony and a reception. As of April 11, 40 honors students have accepted nomination into Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges, according to Susan Medina, administrative assistant in the college’s Office of the Vice President of Academic Success. The event is the college’s third with participation by its Early College High School students, and while the number of early college honors recipients stands at 61, the number of convocation participants in this special population stands at 15 as of April 11. All recipients achieved honors after completing a minimum of 12 college-level credits in a semester with at least a 3.5 semester grade point average or above, and a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. For details on attending the event, contact Susan Medina at or (210) 486-2276.
