Chaplaincy and Interfaith Dialogue in the Military

Add to Calendar St. Philip’s College invites all to attend a conversation on the role of chaplaincy and interfaith dialogue in the military Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. in the Heritage Room of the Campus Center building at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive. Event parking and admission are both complimentary. The college will moderate the program with locally practicing U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force chaplain panelists who’ll discuss the topics and take questions. Panelists will include Army Capts. Peter McDonald, John Park and Brady Lanoue, Army Lt. Col. John Kaizer, retired Army Lt. Col. Otis Mitchell, and retired Air Force Col. Skip Courter. Mitchell is pastor at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church, and Courter is pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church. Audience members may pre-submit questions now to spc-pr@alamo.edu by Sept. 20 at noon. The event is part of the White House’s 2011 National Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge. The community service challenge seeks to unite people of different beliefs and different backgrounds around the greater common good through both service and understanding.
