The academic journeys of former SAPD cadets and now-SAPD officers Frank Lopez III and Jocelyne Alvarez intersected with St. Philip's College when “A reporter and photographer from the San Antonio Express-News spent a year following a group of cadets to document their training at the San Antonio Police Department’s nationally recognized academy.”
